Description :
Hand Knotted Floral Room Rug 9’x11’ The prominent circular or star-shaped centerpiece often represents a lotus flower, a symbol of sacred significance in Persian culture. This "medallion-and-corner" layout is a hallmark of many prestigious Persian styles. The use of muted pastels—including soft pinks, light blues, and ivories—is frequently seen in Kerman (specifically those influenced by Western "French" floral designs) and Tabriz rugs. The delicate, flowery "detached floral spray" and soft hues are very characteristic of Kerman rugs from the mid-20th century Hand tied large room rug with soft pastels in a floral pattern. Cream background with the main colors of teal, pink and red. 2 smaller spots noted. No pet stains. Photographic discolorations are from folding. Includes a floor protector/no slip pad. Approximately 9’x11’
This rug is a classic example of a hand-knotted Persian rug, specifically one following the floral medallion design tradition.
Based on its intricate curvilinear patterns and soft pastel color palette, it shares strong characteristics with rugs typically produced in major Iranian weaving centers like Kerman, Tabriz, or Isfahan.
Ivory backgrounds are often used to make detailed floral motifs pop.
