Description :

Antique White Cedar Wooden Cylinder 4 Gallon Butter Churn

Stenciled "New Style White Cedar Cylinder Churn" on the front

Manufactured around the late 19th to early 20th century

Crafted from durable white cedar wood staves bound by heavy iron metal hoops

Features a front-facing manual iron hand crank fitted with a turned wooden handle

When turned, it rotates internal wooden paddles to agitate cream until it separates into buttermilk and solid butter

Markings on the drum face read "New Style White Cedar Cylinder Churn" and indicate the capacity, 4-gallon size (by the "4 GALS" visible near the lower rim)

These barrel-shaped tabletop churns were agricultural innovations designed to make the butter-making chore faster and easier than traditional vertical dash churns
